The Global Pet Finder GPS Pet Tracker is the ideal device for pet parents who have pets that tend to wander off. Through using this GPS tracker, one can easily know the location of one’s pet at any time. This GPS cat tracker is ideally used for pets. Yet, some people can choose to use them for kids, seniors or anyone they care about.
This device makes use of three rechargeable AAA batteries which is included with the unit. The battery life is not good for those who plan to leave their pet for an extended period of time. At most, it can last for 24 hours. The battery charger, snap guard, quick start guide and user’s manual are included in the package.
Small and light
This GPS pet tracker is rather light and small. It only weighs 1 pound and its dimensions are 3.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 inches.
The device can be used for cats or dogs. However, for really small pets or toy dogs, this might not be the best device to use.
Virtual environment
This GPS pet tracker allows the user to create a virtual fence on their website. This is after paying for the one-time activation fee of $34.99. A monthly service charge also has to be paid to be able to get text message alerts for times when the pet goes beyond the virtual fence. The device can store up to five different virtual fences.
This device can also monitor the temperature of the pet’s environment. The user can then know if their pet is cold or hot. There are users that noticed the device has a problem keeping the satellite signal at times. This can result in inaccurate information and false alerts.
How to use it
It is quite simple to use this device. However, some people may have problems using the application on the website. The pet owner simply has to attach the unit to the snap guard. Make sure it is secure. Once attached, it can be slipped on the pet’s collar or harness.
The virtual fences are defined on the product’s website. Note that it does not necessarily have to be one’s exact address. As long as it covers the specific area one is interested in, the address itself is not that much of an issue.
Water resistant
This pet GPS tracker’s snap guard is water resistant, but the transmitter is not. Therefore, it is not totally water proof. This means that overnight condensation can actually damage the transmitter.
